A Long Time Coming | Life Update

Good Afternoon Everyone,

Today I actually wanted to write a blog post. I know, right?

Now I do realise that the last post I wrote on here was January, and that was a blooming' long time ago. I have basically become blog lazy...

So to start off again, and actually keep you updates on what's been going on, I thought I would write a little life update, just to keep you involved and not feel neglected altogether!

 - So firstly, yes, I am still doing YouTube videos. And yes, I am loving it. I actually have schedule now (if you were wondering, I upload every Sunday!). If you would like to check out my YouTube channel I would massively appreciate it, making those videos is literally one of my favourite things to do and I love receiving every single comment or feedback.

- My current living situation! I still live with my mum, and have just bought my first car (which broke on the first day)...

Having the freedom to be able to drive wherever I want to do is extremely well-needed and liberating. I know longer need to experience the shambles that is our local bus service, and also do not need to persuade my mum to give me lifts everywhere. I actually have a life now!

As for my job, I am now full time at a place near me! I got what most people would call a "promotion" and am loving every minute of it :)

- So what have I been doing recently?

Basically, I have been getting my sh*t together! After finishing college, I struggled a lot with what I wanted to do with my life and ended up drifting from one day to the next, hoping that an opportunity would arise and it would fall into place. That definitely didn't happen and I ended up wasting my days doing absolutely nothing. So I decided that I would try and put the little pieces of my life together and focus on one piece at a time.

Starting with my job, I finally have something to rely on and it means that I don't have to scrape every penny I have to make it through the month. I then realised that I needed something to do other that work because if I'm honest, I really don't have that great of a social life, (no pity needed). So I turned to YouTube. Now I've only just started, but giving myself the motivation of a routine means that I actually do it and am loving it so far!

Recently I actually went away with my family for my grandparent's 50th wedding anniversary, and had some well needed time away. We ate way too much food, drank way to much, and laughed so much I came back feeling as though I had a six-pack.

It was truly a lovely weekend, and it is a weekend that I will truly remember forever. With my grandparents, all of their four children, a few boyfriends and girlfriends, and the 12 grandchildren we were definitely not a group to be messed with (the supermarket delivery man would also agree!).

So after getting my car and other pieces fell into place, I realised that something else had been neglected and I realised it was this little outlet on the internet that is my blog.

I remember I used to love writing on my blog and really missed the freedom of being able to write whatever I fancied. Also being an absolute bookworm, a blog is a 21st century version of that and I love it. So if you do have a blog, then comment it below as I would love to read it!

So where do we go from here..

I'm thinking maybe a weekly post, possibly on a Tuesday completely revolving around beauty (which as you all know I love).. maybe a "Top 5 Tuesday?" or a "Favourites Friday?". Let me know what you guys think!!

Overall, I am going to make much more of an effort to interact on here, chat to some more people and basically fall in love with my blog again. I would also love it if you joined me along for the ride.

*Tries to think if there's anything else I was supposed to write here*

*Has worst memory ever so decides not*

As always, if you could comment down below your thoughts I would massively appreciate it, and I will leave all of my social media links at the end of this post as I would love for you to come over and have a chat!!

I love you all, and here's to the blog. *Clinks glasses*

Until next time,

A

L'oreal Infallible Fixing Mist | Review

Today I wanted to talk about the first ever mist/setting spray that I've tried. After hearing so much about them in the YouTube and blogging world, I thought I would try one out, one that is quite new in the drugstore.

From first impressions, I thought that it was going to be quite a gimmick product, something that you thought was doing something but actually wasn't. So far, I've noticed a slight difference however not drastic. I bought this from Boots as it was on offer for £7.99 and I had been wanting to try a setting spray for ages.

This claims to create a long lasting finish to a just-applied make-up look. As for the long lasting, it does create a slight difference, however not something that you would notice unless you were focusing on. The actual liquid itself is milky white with a residue that settles if you do not shake before use. The actual spray itself does come out extremely fine, meaning that there are no dots or splatters left on your face. It recommends to spray 2-4 times all over your face, however I think that I use slightly more as I feel some areas need more than others.

Overall, I am intrigued to try some more setting sprays from other companies as the idea of them is actually very good. I do think also that Loreal has massively improved their skin make-up range and have produced something that seems very high end as you use it. I would however have liked to see a slight more power and for my make-up to last a slight bit longer (however for a drugstore setting spray, it actually did very well).

I would probably give this product a 6.5 out of 10, if you've tried this please comment below what you think! Also if you've tried any other setting sprays that you think I might like, comment that also! :-)

Until next time,

A

Maybelline The Falsies Push Up Drama Mascara | Review

Today I wanted to speak about a mascara that I recently picked up in Boots, one that I hadn't seen before. Now I'm not sure if you know this, but Maybelline is probably my favourite brand of mascara  out there as I feel as though they have some amazing ones out there and of course they are a really affordable price. So when I saw this with £2 off in Boots (originally £7.99), I couldn't resist trying it out.

Now from first impressions, the packaging is really beautiful. It has a metallic red cap with a metallic pink bottom, and a strip of black in the middle and actually looks really different from all of the other Maybelline mascaras that are available. The wand, to me, looks quite similar to the Max Factor False Lash Effect Mascara however longer, which made me think that I would love it. However sadly, this mascara quite disappointed me!

On first application I felt as though it picked up slightly too much product, meaning that when you applied it onto your lashes, you had a lot to work with and you lashes ended up clumping together. The image on the left as you can see is a before and after (believe me it took abut 15 minutes to make it look like i didn't just have all of my eyelashes clumped together into one), and I personally don't think it looks very good. As for staying power it is really amazing and lashes all day even on your bottom eyelashes however I wouldn't particularly recommend it. As for the name, "Push Up Drama", I didn't think it curled of pushed my lashes up very much and I don't have very curled eyelashes naturally. I can imagine if you had flat lashes, this mascara wouldn't do much for you at all.

Overall I would probably give this a 5.5 out of 10. I didn't think it was horrendous however I definitely wouldn't repurchase.

If you have tried this mascara, or recommend any others from any other drugstore brands then please comment them below as I would love to hear them!

Until next time,

A

Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette | Review

After becoming slightly obsessed with collecting make-up, I set it my mission to have all of the Naked palletes. Therefore when it came to Christmas time, I asked for the Naked 3 palette. As I have the best family ever, my lovely Grandma and Grandad bought this for me and am super happy. So, I thought I would write a review here as I feel there is a lot of hype of the Naked Smoky and not a lot of hype over the Naked 3.

Shades from left to right; Strange, Dust, Burnout, Limit, Buzz, Trick,
Nooner, Liar, Factory, Mugshot, Darkside, Blackheart.
As for packaging, along with all of the other Naked palettes it is absolutely beautiful. It comes in coppery pink tin the clicks together when closed, meaning that it feels very sturdy (not like its going to fall apart if you travelled very far). I do think it looks quite similar to the Naked 2, meaning that the first Naked palette looks slightly out of place, however it is still lovely either way. Now the colours inside are much more pink toned than the other palettes which does actually sit my hazel eyes much more than the gold
tones that are in the previous two.

As for the quality of the eyeshadows, I think they are a huge step up from the Naked 1 and probably on par with the 2. I do however think that some of the shades in the palette are not as pigmented in others (mostly Trick and Liar). From first glance I thought that Trick would be my favourite shade in the whole palette however I found that I had to layer this again and again just to get something remotely similar to what it looked like in the pan. I do however think the ones that look as though they are't going to be very pigmented, Strange and Limit for example, are very pigmented and not dusty in the slightest. It does also come with the double-ended eyeshadow brush which I feel have hugely improved over the other palettes and are actually lovely to use.

So, after trying this palette for a good few days I have found that the staying power is amazing, lasting all day without a primer. They have also improved the amount of fallout you get as previously the fallout from the other palettes you would leave a shadow of black under your eyes after using (very annoying when you've perfected your foundation I can tell you).  The price, of course, is £38 however there is often a deal on feelunique.com or debenhams.com.

Overall I am loving this palette at the moment and absolutely love the shades that they have included. I do think that it is very different from the other palettes with no repeat shades from the other palettes to fill in the spaces. Let me know what you think in the comments as I would love to know, and also let me know what your favourite palette is as now I have to hunt down so more favourites!!

Until next time,

A
